Thomas Meyer is an accomplished pianist from San Diego, California who recently completed his bachelor’s degree in the California State University Northridge Music Industry Studies program. Meyer prides himself on his musically diverse playing spanning genres from funk, rock, classical, R&B, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, and jazz. His jazz trio encompasses all of these genres, pulling from his own book including original compositions, arrangements of pop songs, jazz standards, and Latin standards.
Thomas’s has been performing with his groups around Southern California since 2016, performing at venues such as Dizzy’s jazz club, Panama 66, and the Black Rail Kitchen and Bar. His rotating cast of sidemen consist of some of the most esteemed musicians in the area. Depending on the venue, performances can range from light background music to loud bar music to full-blown productions, such as Thomas’s 2021 tribute to Joni Mitchell at Dizzy’s jazz club.
Thomas now resides in New York City, and is available for booking for performances throughout the area. This includes solo performances, duos, trios, quartets, or larger-scale ensembles. Thomas is extremely eclectic in his range of genre, and can use this to find the perfect atmosphere for your venue.
